Also known as a stick, this is the tool used to hit a polo ball. The shaft of the mallet is usually made of bamboo, although graphite and fiberglass are sometimes used. The head of the mallet is hardwood, usually ash or maple. The ball is hit with the side of the head, not the end. This one is stamped Argosy Polo Equipment size 30. In good condition, still has the wrist strap attached and grip is still good. To get the length of your mallet to suit you, is get on the horse you’ll be using and sit as if striking the ball with your arm straight down. Use a long stick to measure from the ground to the top of your palm.
