Vintage floor stain can manufactured by American company Detroit White Lead Works. Red and yellow label on the front and directions label on the back. Expected signs of age with some aged patina and dents as shown and no lid.
Detroit White Lead Works was founded in 1865 to produce paint by mixing white lead (carbonate of lead), oils and colours. Incorporated in 1880, the company carried on business until their factory was destroyed by fire in 1896. That same year a new factory was built . . In 1910 the company was acquired by Sherwin Williams although it continued to do business under its original name. Sherwin Williams discontinued using the plant sometime before 1933 and discontinued the name.
