A vibrant multi colour vintage cocktail recipe shaker from the 1950s by the Continental Can Company (Hazel Atlas). The glass shaker has a chrome pouring lid and features no less than twelve cocktail recipes. It is classic mid-century barware.
This cocktail shaker is both colourful and informative, providing go-to recipes for Bloody Marys, Whiskey Sours, Manhattans, Martini’s and more. The bold black and white art deco style bar graphics along the top compliment the bright red, orange and green recipe card motifs that cover the rest of the shaker body. The Continental Can Company Logo is on the base of the glass shaker.
The shaker and chrome lid are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is a coupe of very small marks on the recipe cards. Please see images.
Continental Can Company was an American packaging company and producer of metal containers that was based in Stamford, Connecticut. It was founded by Edwin Norton and T.G. Cranwell in 1904. During World War II, Continental Can Company helped the war effort by building aircraft parts and bombs in their manufacturing plants. In 1956 Continental acquired Hazel-Atlas Glass Co., the third-largest US manufacturer of glass containers. Continental then became the first company with a full line of containers in metal, paper, and glass.
