A vintage black Singer hand crank sewing machine on a wooden base with lid.
This Singer sewing machine is fitted onto a wooden base. It is black with gold and silver decorative leaves and scrolls. The machine flips open to reveal a pocket underneath to store sewing items such as extra feet, needles or bobbins etc.
‘Patented 1886’ is engraved onto the silver coloured plate near the foot and the serial number has been engraved near the base of the crank. There is the original Singer manufacturers badge on the side.
There is some surface wear and scratches, both to the machine and lid. The lid does not seem to be the original and also does not lock onto the base. It has 2 of the decorative detailing missing off the ends. The handle on the crank has been taped and one of the silver coloured plates near the foot is missing. This can all be seen in the photographs.
