Description
A lovely little vintage dish with a silver metal coloured handle.
This is a jam or conserve dish with a silver coloured handle that once held a matching spoon. It is Staffordshire ware from the ‘Quiet Day’ series by W. H. Grindley Pottery in Tunstall, England.
The dish is decorated across the surface with brown transferware portraying an English countryside scene, with a large thatched roof cottage facing a flowing stream and hills and clouds in the distance. There are splashes of colour that highlight the sky, trees etc. The handle is decorated with tiny flowers and leaves. There are some slight corrosion spots in places. This can be seen in the photographs. The dish itself has no signs of chips or cracks.
