Description
It was originally named Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company . In 1885 Westinghouse becomes aware of the new European transformer based alternating current systems when he reads about them in the UK technical journal Engineering. Later in 1885 William Stanley, Jr., working for Westinghouse, develops the first practical AC transformer. In 1886 the Westinghouse Electric Company was founded on January 8, 1886, by George Westinghouse, and was renamed Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1945.
This aluminium Westinghouse 4 blade desk fan has a red plastic dial in the centre which says Westinghouse. There is some surface scratches on the base which can be seen.
This is an American fan so needs to be rewired and run on a 110 V transformer.
