Description
This French Grape pickers basket or trug was bought in a village just outside Epernay, the Champagne capital. The basket was designed to have a strap going through the 2 slots and to fastened on the hip and round the waist, so the back has a lovely curve. This enables the grape picker to lay the grapes in the basket and not bend down or drop them in. There are 3 handles under the outside rim of the trug. These are sometimes also used for seed or grain hand scattering.
