Large American Crouse-Hinds Company circular metal spot light.
This stylish industrial light is has some lovely features. The glass front is hinged to make replacing the bulb or cleaning the glass easy. It fastens into place with butterfly screws. The glass is ribbed and frosted to help diffuse the light. The glass is also imprinted with ’16 7/16 Dia., Made in U.S.A.’. The ‘handle’ or yoke is fully adjustable with an angle marker to get precise spot lighting. There is a ‘Crouse-Hinds Co. Syracuse, N.Y.,U.S.A.’ name plate on the side of the yoke.
The light has some surface marks, scratches and dents. Please see images. This still has the original power cable attached to it an will need to be replaced by a qualified electrician if it to be used again as a light.
Crouse-Hinds Electric Company, a manufacturer of high grade electrical specialties, was established in 1897 in Syracuse, New York. They later shortened their name to Crouse-Hinds Company and beginning in the early 1920s specialized in the manufacture of traffic signals, controllers and accessories.
