Description
Large American vintage cast iron skillet or frying pan. The pan has a lipped edge either side and a shaped handle that tapers to a point.
This pan sit upon 3 cast iron feet and it has a Gate mark line down the centre on the bottom. There is a little bit of corrosion on this pan and a chip on the edge. Please see images.
Gate marked bottoms are often an indication of late 18th or 19th century production.
Cast iron pans are well know for being able retain heat and distribute it evenly which is why they are still popular today.
