Traditional style snowshoes made by Faber in Canada.
Made from natural wood and rawhide webbing. Stamped on the top with ‘Rebaf, Made in Canada by Faber’ and underneath are the initials ‘DK’. The binding is made from a light coloured tan leather.
There is the size 12 x 42 stamped on the side near the back.
There are some scuffs in the wood and some of the webbing is a darker colour. Some of the varnish has worn away in places, especially at the ends. Please see images.
Faber & Co was founded in 1870 by Noé Sioui and Celide Gros-Louis, granddaughter of the most famous Huron Grand Chief, Nicolas Vincent. The family business started by making moccasins at first. Thirteen years later, the manufacturing of snowshoes began and still continues at the same location even today.
