Description
A jumbo thermometer in cream and red advertising Royal Crown Cola. It is made from metal with the temperature reading -40 to 120 degrees Celsius. The thermometer is in good working order and is protected in back by a strip of wood, also in good condition. There are some scratches and a dent as shown in the photograph. Reads Royal Crown Cola across the top, the fresher refresher across the bottom, and Donasco and 512 are stamped along the bottom edge.
Royal Crown Cola (RC Cola) is a soft beverage similar to Pepsi and Coca-Cola. It was developed by a pharmacist named Claude Hatcher in the basement of his father’s grocery store, due to a disagreement with a local soda bottler. Hatcher’s earliest experiments yielded a ginger ale, which became quite popular locally and led him to test other recipes. Over the years, Royal Crown Cola has enjoyed success as an alternative to other soft drinks.
