Sunshine Daintifil Hard Candies advertising can.
The Loose-Wiles company was formed in 1902 and used Sunshine as part of the name for its products. As other companies started including the name Sunshine into their products it was decided in 1946 to change the name of the Loose-Wiles Company to Sunshine Biscuit, Inc. This company was purchased in 1966 by the The American Tobacco Company. This tin has the name Loose – Wiles Company on it so would be pre 1946.
The can has suffered from handling and use over the years, but still in good shape for something over 70 years old. There is a dent and loss of paint to a small area on one side. A worthy addition to an American Candy advertising collection or to be placed on a shelf with other candy tins on display.
