Description
Vintage American red cola cool box. These coolers were very popular from the 1930’s onwards. They were the ideal way to transport your chilled drinks. You went to the grocery store and bought a package of ice to place in the box with the drinks.
This is red with ‘Cola Cooler Fibreglass, Insulated, Poloron Products Inc. New Rochelle, N.Y.’ printed in white across the front of the box. There is a handy bottle opener on the side, plus a drainage hole to let out the water after the ice inside has melted. The metal handle for carrying also helps to keep the lid in place when on the move.
There are some surface scratches and rust on the lid and along the bottom edge as shown in the photographs.
