Vintage American Toleware style gold magazine or newspaper rack dating from the 1950’s – 1960’s.
Commonplace in homes around the mid century to keep magazines and newspapers tidy and to hand, usually standing to the side of the sofa or chair.
The metal rack has an overall gold finish with a hand painted floral design on the front. It features metal coiled scroll style feet and central handle, also in the same gold colour. It still has the original ‘Fine Arts Studio, Hand Painted, Phila. 47 PA.’ sticker inside and a decorative cut out band across the top.
There are some surface marks and scratches, and some of the gold colouring has worn in places. Please see images.
