Description

This vintage handbag is made by Rooney & Bourke and is made from black ‘pebbled’ leather with British tan leather handles and trim. This satchel style all weather leather bag has 2 handles plus a detachable shoulder strap, brass colour metal studs on the base and a brass stamped lozenge/tag on the front. It has a top zipper closure which is missing the zip pull as shown in the photograph, and internal pockets including a zipped pocket. A small bit of stitching has come apart near the main zip, also shown in the photographs.

In 1975 in Norwalk, CT, Dooney & Bourke was born through the creative vision of Peter Dooney and the entrepreneurial spirit of Frederic Bourke. Inspired by America’s rich history in leather goods, ranging from mail pouches to saddle bags and early military gear, they created the distinct blend of classic and contemporary styles that have been the hallmark of every Dooney & Bourke collection.

Dooney & Bourke designs and crafts instant classics with the perfect union of timeless American style, the highest regard for materials and craftsmanship, and a dedication to effortless functionality.

Please remember when buying vintage items, they will have signs of use but that is also what makes them so unique.  We do our best to photograph and explain the condition of the item as best we can.  If you have any questions about a particular item, please contact us. Please take the time to look at all pictures.
