A lovely set of vintage Royal Falcon Weatherby Giftware fruit plates with gold gilded borders. These plates were made in Stoke-on Trent by Royal Falcon potteries.
Each plate has a different fruit on it. There are 2 blue edged plates, one with grapes, walnuts and leaves in the centre and the other with apples and gooseberries. 2 green plates have pears and berries or a pineapple with strawberries and the red plate has peaches with cherries. There is no known chips or cracks in any of the plates but please check the photographs.
Stamped on the back is Weatherby Royal Falcon Giftware, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Est. 1891 with the Union Jack Flag.
Falcon Ware was made by Thomas Lawrence Ltd at Falcon Works in Longton, England. The company started in 1892 but the trade name ‘Falcon Ware’ did not come into use until 1944. ‘Made in England’ was added in 1947.
