This 5 point Trapper Blanket was made for the Eaton’s of Canada Department store.
The blanket is a lovely green colour with a dark green stripe along the top and 4 short lines down the side. It has a bound edge on the top and bottom and the “Diamond E” logo is sewn into the corner. These logos can date back to the 1920’s. This is made from pure wool. The label has some damage to it but the rest of the blanket is in good condition with no holes or stains. Please see images.
Point blankets were so called because they had several short lines known as ‘points’ sewn or woven into one edge near a corner; the number of points on a blanket was intended to indicate its size and therefore its value.
