Vintage wooden double block and tackle pulley made by Madesco Products Company from Easton, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
The pulley is made of wood, with a cast iron hook/sheave and pulley. The manufacturer’s plate is stamped with the company’s logo which is a block and tackle located in the middle of a triangle, centred in the metal medallion. Going through the triangle are the words Madesco Products. On the opposite side is another stamped plate featuring a picture of an anvil – the company’s logo.
There are some surface scratches, small chips and a natural split in the wood which is to be expected in something of this age. Please see images.
Pulleys were often used on farms, ranches, on ships, in various types of plants and factories.
We have a number of pulley blocks of differing sizes and age. Please see our other listing or contact us for more information.
Please remember when buying vintage items, they will have signs of use but that is also what makes them so unique. We do our best to photograph and explain the condition of the item as best we can. If you have any questions about a particular item, please contact us. Please take the time to look at all pictures.

Styling: Pulleys make great display pieces and even great to incorporate into lighting. Place on a shelf or use as a display piece for nautical or farmhouse décor in homes, gardens, restaurants, bars, beach huts etc; or perhaps group 2 or 3 different sized pulleys in a small display. Would make an excellent bookend. Use it in your garden to hang a potted plant.
