Description
This is a vintage leather baseball glove made by Mizuno. A left hand glove with no rips or tears and still has its original laces. Written on the glove is Power Close, Prospect, 11.50inches, GPP1152.
It is light tan and black colour and has a velcro strap across the wrist. The letters DJ have been written on the side of the glove by a previous owner.
In 1906 Rihachi Mizuno and his younger brother Rizo found Mizuno Brothers Ltd. in Osaka, Japan. The shop sold western sundries, including baseballs. Mizuno Shop began to manufacture baseballs and gloves in 1913. Today, Mizuno is a global corporation which makes a wide variety of sports equipment and sportswear, for golf, tennis, baseball, volleyball, football, running, rugby, skiing, swimming, cycling, judo, table tennis, badminton, boxing and athletics.
