Description
Vintage leather Cooper Goalie catchers glove model GM12 from America.
In tan leather, this is used by the goal keeper to help catch shots from entering the goalmouth. It is a ‘Full Right’ and is foam cushioned inside to protect the goalies hand.
This style of Cooper GM12 catcher was used by many NHL goaltenders during the 1970’s.
The leather is worn in places and the Cooper name badge has come unstitched. Please see images.
In its heyday, the 1960s through to the 1980s, Cooper Canada Ltd. was Canada’s leading producer of leather baseball gloves and protective equipment for ice hockey and ringette. The company pioneered team-coloured hockey equipment and the use of nylon, foam, and modern plastics in equipment manufacturing.
